This Privacy Policy describes how the Zakat & Inheritance Calculator app ("the App", "we", "our") handles information for users of the App. The App is developed and published by Tahir Mehmood.
The App is an Islamic calculation tool covering Zakat and inheritance (mirath) calculations across five schools of Islamic jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali, Ja'fari), available in English and Urdu. All figures you enter (wealth amounts, family/heir details, currency, fiqh selection, calculation history) are processed and stored entirely on your own device and are never collected, transmitted, or shared by us. The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob to help keep the App free to use; this is described in detail in Section 3 below.

On supported Android versions, you can also opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising ID through your device's Settings app (Settings > Privacy > Ads, or similar, depending on your device).
To let the App function (remembering your fiqh selection, language preference, and calculation history), the App stores the following data locally on your device only, using standard Android local storage (SharedPreferences):
This data never leaves your device, is not accessible to us, and is automatically removed if you uninstall the App or clear its app data/storage from your device settings.
The App requires internet access solely to display advertisements through Google AdMob. The App does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, storage, or location. The App requests only the minimum permissions required for its core functionality and for displaying ads (such as sharing a calculation result via your device's share menu, if this feature is present).
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). The App does not knowingly direct advertising at children, and advertising is served through Google AdMob's standard policies, which restrict how ads are served to apps and users in child-directed contexts.
The App provides calculations for general informational and educational purposes based on commonly accepted rulings across the five schools of Islamic jurisprudence it covers. It is not a substitute for consulting a qualified Islamic scholar for religious rulings (fatwa) on your specific situation, particularly for inheritance matters, which can involve complex individual circumstances.
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this same page with an updated "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
